Jobs. Plus or Minus?

Actually both.  Many (R. Reich, eg) point to still deteriorating employment. Otoh, There's this on job postings, from Paul Kedrosky, 4/2:

For the first time since the economic crisis hit, new U.S. job postings data shows that all industries in the U.S. are either up or flat y-o-y. Granted, we’re coming off a low and depressed base, so some of this is just maintenance hiring, but this is still a sizable economic step on the path toward recovery.
And just to truly amaze and appall, look at the gains in job postings in areas like financial services and real estate.  Didn’t those people get the memo?
